Deslie Billich will speak on the prosecution of international crime in Kenya, and in particular their recent enactment of the International Crime legislation and its implications for prosecution. Kenya is intending to prosecute the post-election violence, as well as other international crimes, under this legislation, but they have significant legislative as well as capacity constraints. Those include, among other things, the lack of adequate witness protection and forensic capabilities.
